This reason is basically virgin territory for trekers. Geographically Dhaulagiri region is a land of dramatic contrast. From the near tropical Pokhara valley, steep slopes climb to snowcapped heights of over 8100 meters at the northern border with Tibet. Dhaulagiri I, the sixth tallest peak in the world, towers high above the well- trekked Muktinath pilgrim trail up the Kaligandaki valley. The vast massif screen he hidden land of Dolpa to its north and to the west of I are Nepal’s western hills.
